✽ ✽ Glow On The Go ✽ ✽
Spring has finally sprung!!!! ok not really, its still pretty darn cold where I am in Canada, but I can just feel spring right around the corner! To me that means bright colours, florals (groundbreaking…) and of course, fresh dewy makeup. Lately, I’ve been playing around with different ways of applying my foundation to try to find a technique that will leave my skin looking and feeling moisturized and dewy. This winter was brutal for my dry skin, I just felt chapped and gross all season long so I was definitely into getting some real hydration going on. I found a great technique to get that glow, on the go! It takes almost no time at all and leaves your skin looking amazing all day long. I also tried out the Benefit Cosmetics Bad Gal mascara for the first time in this video, check it out to see what I thought!
Lets hang out!

5 Steps For The Perfect Smokey Eye
Earlier this week I posted part one of this video, essentially I wanted to show you guys how I do my foundation/updated contour routine and also how to create the perfect smokey eye in just 5 easy steps but I didn’t want the video to be 500000 hours long! Ok that might be a bit of an exaggeration but you know what I mean. I lose interest super easily, so I divided my videos into two shorter ones.
When it comes to my eye makeup, I always use the same colours – browns and golds. I love the combination on my skin tone and with my eye colour but it gets boring. I asked one of my best friends to choose which colours I should use from the Jaclyn Hill palette and she chose Chip, SBN and Faint, three colours that I don’t think I’ve ever even touched before! I really love the way that this look turned out and its made me so excited to try out different colours in the future! Its taken me awhile to figure out my perfect formula for a smokey eye since my eyes are so small and semi-hooded, after a lot of trial and error, I think I found the technique that works best for me (and maybe you too!) I hope you enjoy this video and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel 🙂
|Essential Oils 101|Featuring AromaForce |
I feel like those who know me are not surprised at the amount of essential oil videos i’ve been making lately since i’m pretty much obsessed with the stuff. For todays video, I teamed up with Aromaforce, an essential oil company based out of Montreal. Aromaforce was generous enough to send me a set of four of their essential oils, since I’ve already been using their products for awhile now, it was a no brainer that I would want to collaborate on this video to show you guys some of their amazing products and their health benefits. Be sure to visit their website to check out all of their oils. If you have any questions about essential oils and which ones are right for you, make sure to leave them in the comments.

I’ve never been one for crazy halloween makeup, I think I just get too impatient and the idea of putting liquid latex on my face just gives me the creeps. I feel like this year is going to be the year of the clown in terms of Halloween makeup, especially with the movie IT coming out earlier this year (If my predictions are right, we’re going to see lots of clowns and lots of wonder women). I decided to put together a makeup look only using products I have in my cosmetics bag. Nothing fancy, nothing crazy and no special effects makeup. This is a super simple look and can be played up or down depending on the vibe you’re going for. If you have foundation, liquid eyeliner, eyeshadow and red lipstick, then you’re already halfway there.
I hope you guys enjoy this video, if you did, let me know in the comments, leave me a thumbs up and don’t forget to subscribe to my channel, I try to upload as often as possible 🙂 & while you’re at it, check out my other social media platforms

I’ve always had long hair, so last March when I cut it all off on a whim, I instantly regretted it. I loved the look of short hair and I knew I wanted to do something drastic after my wedding, but as soon as I chopped it all off, I felt like I had lost my security blanket. Not to mention that dry, frizzy hair looks much, much worse in the humidity than it would in any other climate so I really did myself a disservice cutting it right before the summer. Either way, as I’ve been patiently waiting for my hair to grow back, I’ve found ways to manipulate the look of longer hair in just two minutes. Honestly, this look is so easy and it looks so cute. I got the idea when I saw that Charlotte from Sex and the City had her hair styled this way during on of the episodes in season 6. I then got to work, playing around and trying to find a way to make it look natural and more voluminous and thus, this hairstyle was born. This video is a little shorter than usual, but a 2 minute hair tutorial video shouldn’t be any longer than 3 minutes in my opinion 😉 I hope you guys enjoy this video and as always, don’t forget to subscribe to my channel, I try to upload videos once a week!

It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here!! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette to come out, and when the site crashed while ordering it, and I thought for a minute that I wasn’t going to get it, I was crushed! It arrived in the mail today and I could not wait to get my grubby hands on it. I had so many ideas in my head, but when I finally sat down to record, I ended up with (surprise surprise) smokey but natural. I decided to wash it all off and start over with this super dramatic green look and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! I hope you guys enjoy this video and as always, I hope you will subscribe to my channel!

From a young age, we’re conditioned to believe that failure is the lack of success, and in the most literal terms, it is but there is so much more power in failure than we allow ourselves to believe. As I sit here writing this post, my cell phone screen is continuously flashing Instagram notifications. People from all over the world are liking and commenting on my newest post, one that I carefully crafted with all the right angles and filters, topped off with a caption that I spent 5 minutes mulling over. “Does it sound right?” “Does it give off the right vibe?”. We’ve become so wrapped up in this digital world that we sometimes forget the reality of it all. We forget that we are more than an online persona. I once heard that we never truly are able to see ourselves – know how we look. We only see reflections of ourselves in mirrors and freeze framed photographs. Now, in this digital era, we’ve detached ourselves even further, allowing ourselves to literally manipulate our bodies and our minds through apps and filters that allow the world a glimpse into our carefully crafted, online persona. We moderate our lives without any fear of mental or social consequences. Not realizing that one day, the smoke and mirrors will clear and you’ll be standing in front of your own reflection, forced to ask yourself “who am I?”
I used to fear failure and rejection (as I’m sure many others do). I never allowed myself any room to consider that I wouldn’t achieve all my dreams and goals as early as I wanted to. I reached a point in my life where all I cared about were the numbers on my social media platforms and the false sense of validation I got from each like and each comment. I would stare at the thumbs down option on my YouTube videos and hate myself whenever the numbers would rise. I never realized that the rejection was actually a positive thing. Something that was pushing me forward and showing me the areas I needed to improve upon. There is a sense of power when you let go of the fear of failure, one that doesn’t come easy. It comes from doors being slammed shut in your face, from dead ends, from a constant stream of rejection and a sense of being lost in the world. From that point you have two options, wallow in self pity and allow yourself to let the world kick you while you’re down, or use the failure and rejection to better yourself. I can’t speak for the latter option because I’m still in the process of picking myself up and continuing to navigate this scary world but I know I’m on the right track because I’m allowing myself to gain strength from the failure.
I strongly believe that success does not come without failure, in order to really understand the world and really understand yourself, you must first see how much you can endure. How much the world can throw at you and still pick yourself back up and keep going. I don’t exactly know where my life is headed right now, my 5 year plan has gotten a little foggy but there is one thing I do know, I will not let the other F word control my life.
