Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love trying out new skincare products – especially natural ones. So when I got the opportunity to try Seacret Dead Sea skincare products, I jumped on the chance. As one of the wonders of the world, the Dead Sea hosts some of the most naturally occurring mineral rich soil which has been proven to cure many cosmetic ailments such as eczema and psoriasis. For people with regular skincare needs, the high content of minerals such as zinc, potassium, sulfer, phosphorus, lithium and strontium (just to name a few) create the perfect combination to clear and smooth any complexion.
Seacret offers a wide variety of skincare products that use natural Dead Sea ingredients to give your skin the love and care it needs. I had the opportunity to try out eight different products and wrote a review about each one. Hopefully this review can help you find the product best suited for your skincare needs.
- Mineral-Rich Peeling Gel
Notable Ingredients: Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Cucumber and Ginseng.
Review: This peeling gel with exfoliating beads promises to peel away dead skin cells for a vibrant, fresh complexion. I’m not going to lie, this was my least favourite out of the products. It was sticky and hard to spread. Maybe I didn’t have enough moisture on my face at the time, but I did’t really find anything particularly special about this exfoliating gel.
- Deep Cleansing Facial Wash
Notable Ingredients: Allantoin (commonly used to heal cuts and burns, used for its ability to stimulate skin cell growth), Aloe Vera, Glycerin (another skin repair product), Salicylic Acid (used in many acne treatments for its ability to clear blackheads and reduce the appearance of pores) and Sea Buckthorn (an extract used for the regeneration of cells).
Review: You know when you meet someone new and instantly click? They just get you and you have that “where have you been all my life” feeling? This face wash was the equivalent of that feeling for me. I loved this product, one small dime-sized drop washed into a rich lather that left me with a noticeably deep, clean face. It even removed makeup residue that my remover had left behind. I give this cleaner an A++.
- Mineral Rich Refining Toner
Notable Ingredients: Allantoin, Chamomile, Glycerin
Review: One of my friends absolutely hates any product that has a strong scent. Any face wash, lotion, cleanser or toner with any scent that isn’t light and fresh is an instant write-off in her books. This product is not for people with a strong sensitivity to smells. I found the toner to have a very pungent scent, but nonetheless it worked wonderfully in toning my combination skin. People with ailments cuts, burns, scars or acne may be interested in this mineral-rich refining toner because of the repairing properties of its natural ingredients.
- Mineral-Rich Clarifying Mud Mask
Notable Ingredients: Allantoin, Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Dead Sea Mud, Glycerin, Jojoba Oil (the only oil that most closely resembles sebum – your natural oils- it’s mostly used for its moisturizing effects), Sunflower Oil (which contain properties that provide anti-inflammatory benefits, cleansing agents and various vitamins) and vitamin A (contains anti-aging, anti-oxidant and moisturizing properties).
Review: So this was probably the best mask I’ve ever used. I had a few blemishes on my face when using it, so when it first went on it did sting a bit. I looked in the mirror a few minutes after putting it on and noticed the infection of one of the blemishes actually being pulled forward which was both disgusting and amazing. When the mask dried I was able to wash it and the infection away at the same time. I’ve never once used a mask that worked that quickly on any blemishes or ailments on my face. After using it, the existing blemishes dried on their own from the healing properties found in the mask. Another A++ product from Seacret.
- Balancing Facial Serum
Notable Ingredients: Carbohydrate (moisturizing properties which improve the skins biochemical properties), Evening Primrose Oil (anti-aging and rejuvenating properties that aid in cell structure), Hamamelis extract (also known as witch hazel, this extract has anti-oxidant properties and has also been proven to aid in irritation caused by everything from shaving to eczema) and Urea (a natural cosmetic preservative that has hydrating properties).
Review: This product smells absolutely amazing and goes on like butter (not that you would wanna put butter on your face, but you know what I mean). The balancing facial serum was great to use especially after the mask. Masks can leave your face feeling dry, but this product provided the right amount of moisture and hydration.
- Essential Nutrition Eye Gel
Notable Ingredients: Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Ginseng, Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil (absorbs UV radiation, lowers metabolic rate of body cells which repairs and prevents cell damage), Pro Vitamin B5 (smoothing and plumping effects) and Rosehip oil ( delays the effects of aging and promotes collegian production)
Review: I’ve been using the Bobbi Brown eye cream for the past little while, so I stopped using it for a few days to really see the benefits of this eye gel. I put it on before bed and woke up with the product still sitting on my skin after 8 hours of sleep. Other than the greasiness, it did leave my under eye plump and refreshed. I would use this product again for sure. I also dabbed some of the gel on my lips for a plumping effect which worked wonderfully.
- Essential Moisture Face Cream
Notable Ingredients: Allantoin, Aloe Vera, Amino Acid (improves skins ability to stay hydrated which in turn allows for a smoother application of your cosmetics allowing you to use less), Green Tea Extract (helps fight damage caused by free radicals), Lactic Acid (like amino acids, lactic acid aids in your skins ability to absorb moisture), Rosa Centifolia (skin conditioning agent that also gives off that floral scent used in most moisturizers) and Salicylic Acid (reduces the appearance of clogged pores while also cleaning embedded bacteria).
Review: The only criticism i have about this cream is that it goes on a bit tacky. Other than that, the Essential Moisture Face Cream is a great moisturizing agent that left my skin feeling soft and supple after one use.
- Recover Day Masque
Notable Ingredients: Aloe Vera, Vitamin A and Patented Silica Microstructure (improves skins appearance while aiding in the appearance of wrinkles while also absorbing sweat and sebum).
Review: With daily use, this mask promises to reduce the appearance of wrinkles while also lifting your skin for a younger, rejuvenated look. The mask goes on as a thick paste and dries into a powder. It was a little odd since I had never used a mask that dried into a powder-like texture. Because of the Patented Silica Microstructures ability to absorb sebum, the mask leaves your skin incredibly dry but noticeably clear.
All in all, I really liked using Seacret’s Dead Sea Skincare products. Not only do they have natural properties, but they’re a cruelty free company which as you know means a lot to me. Check out their website at http://www.seacretspa.com and let me know how you like their products!
